Phoenix, Vikings, and funtimes

Ivy had found something to wear of course. Like most women she has a cloest full of clothes. So she's ready for anything the weather might bring. Right not she's waiting in the shade of a tree listening to the people going past her. Thankfully the city is cooling down. And it also will be nice to get inside the museum. After all, there is all that nice air condtioning.

Oh, and of course a date. That's a plus that can make any girl forget how hot out it is. After all, it had been a long time for her. Like ten month period. Then again she is pretty damn sure that Phoenix has just as much trouble, or more trouble, than she does.

Phoenix nods, and feels his heart flutter when she looks at him like that. He's always had a bit of a weakness for the shy types. Dahlia had been like that...

Well, pretended to be like that. No, he's not going to think about her. This is about him, for once.

"Sounds great! I haven't been to a museum in a while. I wonder if things are going to be different at all here? Should be interesting." He takes her arm, if she lets him.

Well she may not be shy for long. Once she gets to know him more being shy around him will go away. It's the newness that has her so flustered.

"They might be, I'm not too sure about the differences between Earths." She lets him. It is nice letting someone do that.

He shrugs. "I can't imagine it's too different. I mean, vikings. How much different can they get from world to world, really? Uh, don't answer that, actually."

He leads them into the building, marveling at the architecture of the city. Gotham really is... rather gothic, when it comes down to it. It's very impressive on a whole.

He's rubbernecking in the museum too, and they're not even at the displays yet. Something about being in a whole different world is fascinating, somehow, even if a lot of the trappings are the same. He leads them both to the man who takes their tickets and looks over. "You've got them, then?" He'll let her hand them over; it'd be insulting to do it for her, especially after what she told him when they first met.

"All right, I won't." She's smiling like an imp right now. Because not telling him stuff on his request? Is funny as hell.

She nods and hands them over to the ticket lady. So far so good. "...Where would you like to head first? The upper floor is neat for seeing the Mongolian display they keep. And...you might like the view of the city. I've been told it's kinda pretty up there."

Phoenix nods. "Whatever you think is best. Remember, I'm the foreigner here. You get to lead ME around, pretty much," he replies. He figures blind or not, she knows the place way better than he could, making him almost blinder in that respect.

That gets him an eye roll. But she decides to lead him up there anyways. She think he'll like it so it's a good choice as far as she's concerned.

"Well? We're up here. Let's look around." She wants him to get to see as much as they can before their feet start hurting like crazy.

He nods happily and moves, entering one of the rooms. There's a nice display of pottery here that catches his eye. "Some nice pottery here. Um, very basic, but well-made," he says. He's not sure he's doing this describing thing well, but he's giving it his all, dagnabbit.

She's following along beside him. Then grins a bit. They have alot of that. The Greek peices look neat, I've heard. Lots of naked Spartans."

He's doing fine.

"Naked --" He blinks a little, shaking his head. "Uh, I wouldn't know. Don't usually pay attention to that sort of thing. *cough*" He leads her to another exhibit, a few select odds and ends. "Looks like a few decorative pieces here..." He looks at her. "You sound like you're pretty familiar with the collection, though." He raises an eyebrow.

Now she looks so impish. "Well I do. They've had this for three years. Since I came to Gotham. I make my friends come with me here. We walk through the Museums together. I like hearing people discribe things. It..It's rather soothing to me."

Phoenix listens quietly, nodding. "It is rather relaxing... and I think we could all do with some relaxing right now." He tries not to think too hard about the Sanctuary of late, with its recent collection of murderous psychos, and instead concentrates on examining the much saner collection here and describing things.

After a while, he thinks. "You said there was a view here? Could you tell me which way to see it? I think I'd like to see it for myself," he asks.

"Yeah. It's down the hall to the right. There's somr satues that way. Big cat-like ones." She lets go of his arm and begins to lead the way. He'll probally get there faster. But she likes standing there.

He lets her lead. For one thing, people seem oddly more inclined to get out of the way when it's a blind person in front. More importantly, however, she's clearly got the layout memorized, and he'd be worried about getting lost. And she clearly wants to lead, so...

When they get there, he can't help but stare. "...Wow, you weren't kidding about the view," he says, marveling. "It's... well, it'd probably be even more awesome when the sun sets, but you can sure see a lot from here."

Well they might be afraid of her bumping into them. But she likes using them parting like the Red Sea to her advantage. Helps her get her way when she needs to.

"I thought you might like it. Lots of folks take pictures here." In fact there's a man with a camra snapping pictures. "I've heard Gotham looks like it's made from gems at night. But I dunno...Everything here is tall. Lots of office buildings and the like."

He nods. "It's sort of like Los Angeles, in a way, but everything's so much more stylized here. The architecture has its own character in a way home doesn't. It's... beautiful, really," he says.

He continues to stare. "You want... me to describe it more?" he asks.

She listns to him talking. Then nods slowly. "Yeah. I'd like that. I've never seen L.A up close so that comparison kinda throws me off. And most Gotham natives just think of it as Gotham...even if they take some pride in the city."

He looks out. "Well, the buildings... they're towering, in a sort of dark way. But there's something magnificent to it, as if you want to go further in and sort out the secrets of the place. Almost like a castle, you know?" He sort of gestures, even though she can't see it. "L.A. is... well, it's a city. It feels like a city. This feels more... mysterious, somehow. I can't explain it too well, honestly..." He rubs the back of his head. "I think that about sums it up."

"Like something out of a Nori film by the sounds of it," she mutters with a slight smirk. "I mean if they had a big budget and stuff."

"Like there'ds something in the back ground? I think I understand. I mean if you walk around the city...It sometimes feels a little opressive. And I don't mean the crime going on now. Almost as if all the crimes done here since the Wayne shootings years ago? Have started to make the city dark. But I don't think anyone really notices that."

"Something like that. Sounds about right, honestly." He looks out. "I wonder if it was a deliberate plan on the architects' part..."

He frowns a little on the crime. "The Wayne shootings?" He has to admit he's a little curious on this one. Chalk it up to his job, and one too many detective novels.

"Actually this city is pretty old. It was founded before the American Civil war anyways. I don't keep too up to date on how old this place is."

"Thomas and Martha Wayne. Two big names in Gotham some thirty years ago. They had been out seeing a Zoorro film wwith their son Bruce. He was...just a kid. Anyways, this petty crook tried mugging them. As the story goes the robbery went south. The parents were killed in front of Bruce, and the crook got away. Anyways. He grew up. He's one of the reasons this city is starting to look better. He invests in alot of projects that have helped make things better for folks who need the help. He's always throwing charity events. Doing everything he can for Gotham. But...it isn't like what it was back in the old days. They never had all these crinimals before."

And of course Bruce Wayne is Batman. But Ivy doesn't know that.

He raises his eyebrows. "Huh. Must've been ahead of its time back in the day." He looks out.

His brow furrows as he listens to the story. He can't help but wander mentally back to Edgeworth, who also lost a parent violently at a young age... and ended up becoming a prosecutor to alleviate his own guilt. "It's good to hear he's channeling his energies into something positive. It could've gone a lot worse," he says. "But that must be hard, watching the city grow more dangerous." He remembers stories when he was younger of the riots that took place in LA, and his parents complaining about how the change in the law system seemed to only make criminals more desperate. He's aware of watching things growing darker.

He watches for a little longer. "We should probably move on. Plenty left to see."

"It was. People loved this place back in it's hayday."

"Well. He does more than that. But due to all the good he tries doing, I think we can forgive him having a new girl on his arm every other month. It's not so bad." She wonders if Wayne does it to cover up the pain. He never got married and is a workaholic businessman. It seems he just wants to forget his past or maybe, just maybe, make the future better for someone else.

"Sure. ...Hmm. What would you like to see? I'm sure I can get us there."

He nods, then listens as she talks about Wayne. "Sounds like a real playboy. I'm more a 'one girl' sort of guy personally. Too many people are all about the sex these days," he says. And he should know. He LIVES in the Nexus, after all.

He smiles. "Well, we haven't hit that Viking exhibit you mentioned... how about that?" He mentally buffs up his describing skill, because yeah.

She giggles just a bit. "He is. But...I guess if he wants to do that we can'tt complain....And your way? More respectable actually. I mean...Um..." She flushes. "I tend to avoid sex even if I'm a very tactile person. Sex is too personal."

Gee, what part has he been in? Ivy was only seriously hit on once.

That brightens up her face. "All right! Umm..Let's go."

She'll be grabbing his hand if he lets her.

He rubs the back of his head. "To each their own. Whatever you're comfortable with, huh?" The no sex thing is a bit disappointing, but on the other hand something of a relief. Far too many awkward situations lately dealing with sex. *cough*

Phoenix would like to find that part she's been in. Sewiously.

He definitely lets her grab his hand. For one thing, it's a nice feeling. Vikings ho.
