Passing out into sleep after getting out of one situation face first on her bed then waking up hours latter somewhere else was not a part of the plan. Of course there really hadn't been a plan to start either. Ivy had just known she was tired and had gone straight to bed.

So waking up on what felt like some kind of roof bare foot of all things was not her idea of a good time. She didn't have a cane either so she had to feel around. That helped her figure out she was indeed on a roof.

She did find the fire escape after about twenty minutes she guessed of groping around. Then she decided it didn't feel stable enough so she sat down and sighed patting her pockets down. If she just had a PIN she could use it to get down. That was cheating in the fun way since it would cut down on any terror she might feel. Only she lacked anything that would actually help aside from her wallet perhaps.

She gets up after thinking over her options for a moment so she can explore roof top. She swears vividly when her toe catches painfully on part of a ventilation system. God damn it doesn't quite fill her quota today when it comes to annoyed cursing of things. She finds a wide board that seems to go across top another roof. She's starting to wonder if she can be brave enough to crawl over to the other side. It seems to be about a foot of empty space. She tests how stable it is carefully then decides to play it a little risky. She is up and springs across the board. Nothing bad happened and she has a second roof to check out and see if she can actually get down from it.

This will totally work. She has every confidence. After all she isn't totally helpless or hopeless.

Today I got to meet a mother and child in the Nexus. It was nice and the conversation I had with the mother had me reflect a little on my past. I wish there was more I could share of it with some people but I can't quite bring myself to.

Then there was that other person. It was most disturbing to talk to him. I think I must have a good poker face or I really wasn't bothered by his nature at the time.

He's from Gotham too. Or a Gotham. I should take care in case he fixates on people who don't appear to be bothered by him.

When did trusting people first turn into mild paranoia first?
blindingtrust: (Looking down)
Ivy had gotten Altair a present a while ago she hadn't gotten to him. Every time they had ran into each other it was unexpected and very chaotic. Or just damn interesting for other reasons. She still had no idea how she was going to tell him she had something for him.

She frowns when the thing in question attacked her shoe again. There was purring of course when she reached down to scoop up the fuzzy ball. It didn't help her resolve that cats were evil when it curled up against her shoulder and continued to purr in one ear.

"Stop that," Ivy triers to order the young cat. "I don't like you. We've discussed this before."

Now it starts to rub his head against Ivy's jaw. Damn it, why her? Ivy is about to give the young cat a very stern lecture on why she doesn't like cats when she notes she isn't walking across wood floors. Nexus.

And she is in somewhat normal clothing. Ivy decides to find a place to sit. The cat better not try to run off.
blindingtrust: (Interesting)
Ivy had been exploring a few places. She was pleased to say that most of the places she visited weren't in the main part of the Nexus. Getting off the beaten path felt good for her. Of course she did after a while note the air was much cooler and she decided she needed a drink. A hot drink would be just the thing she decided after feeling a chill set in her bones.

It really didn't take her long to find a new place for drinks. The Nexus Admiral Arms was very unexpected for her. She thought it was some sort of famous bar in Washington DC. She decided it didn't matter either way she was going to order a drink and rest her feet before moving on.

Mulled wine seemed like a good idea. It smelt good to her and the warmth would do her some good before she went out walking again.
blindingtrust: (Cedric standing)
It had started a while ago in Gotham. At least for Cedric and Ivy it had. Now dog and owner were separated. Cedric had found his way into the Nexus. For him it wasn't very hard. For a dog he was both fairly smart and held a decent memory. He was looking and sniffing around for someone who he deemed 'nice'.

And of course Altair was nice. He would probably pat Cedric. And notice the fairly fresh blood matted into his upper shoulder and the stains around his muzzle. He had been in a tussle and was seeking attention because right now Ivy was in no shape to stick her nose out and notice he had been beaten up a bit too. After all Cedric would never willingly let any harm come to Ivy. She was the nice lady who fed him and took such good care of him after all.

(( OOC NOTE: This is for future ploty fun times for anyone who happens to be following this. In Gotham that is.))
blindingtrust: (Interesting)
Ivy was actively seeking Altair in the Nexus. She wasn't sure if he was there but if he was she had something in store for him. Mostly because she had been pondering this for a long time.

He would have no idea what was in store for him. Though the slightly worrying part was when she found she was someplace that felt like someone had dropped a old church or temple of some kind near a large forest. She could tell there was a path leading away from the forest and the holy place. She wasn't sure if she would call it holy but it had the right feel. There was a sense of peace that came off the old stones.

But that didn't matter. The serenity would be quiet rudely disrupted once Ivy could locate the person she was sure was in the area.
blindingtrust: (Looking down)
Ivy had a long day. Tests and final papers plagued her since the last time she had been here. The life of a student could be stressful which is why she was taking a much needed break. She was in her usual clothing which consisted of her long coat, which lay unbuttoned, a white collared shirt that had the top two buttons undone, and dark slacks.

But her shoes had been removed. As well as her socks. She had even seen fit to remove her sunglasses. She was just content to sit and let her mind unload all that information that kept spinning through her head.

She's not dozing off. Really. Her head dropping against her chest means nothing. It's just the tree she's under is so nice and the air is so warm. She can't help it if she's relaxing and just happens to find herself snoozing a bit.

God I don't understand men at all.

And what's sad? I think I'm in love with him. But our lives are far too different. I keep telling myself that. But my blasted heart won't listen to what my mind knows.

It should hurt me so much more than it does. It's like shoving my hand in an open fire and not getting burned. I don't understand myself anymore. I wanted to forget about men and just work on my studies but I can't forget him. I feel like I might freeze if I don't spend some time with him.

But we're far too different. I'm just going to end up getting hurt.

I think I’ll keep up with this anyways. I think it’s too late to just walk away from him. It would be selfish of me to. God only knows how much I don’t want to hurt him. And I’m not even very religious.
blindingtrust: (Hair done up)
It isn't often Ivy uses her PINpoint to go home from the Sanctuary. But she had a really good reason. To change into something a little more showy. It was a nice dress that a friend had talked her into buying.

Poor Altair would never know what hit him. It had more color than anything else Ivy owned. And showed a good amount of her legs too, didn't help Ivy was wearing matching shoes and waiting for the chance to say hello to Altair. He might find it unusal for Ivy to be wearing red.

It would just look odd seeing as she's not a flashy dresser and red is well, eye catching.

For Altair

Ivy was in the Nexus once more. It had been a few weeks for her since she had last seen Altair in his home reality. She hadn't been in the Nexus proper either for quite some time.

In fact today she was back on her way through the Nexus dressed very casually. Jeans and a t-shirt. Not something she would normally wear but it was a very nice shirt. She was also plopped right under a tree in a thick grove of trees with one of her books in brail and a basket filled with food. Because she knew she would be too busy studying to go get food latter.

Her health had also improved greatly since they had last run into each other. And she was still quite serious about what she had said to him. But now she was seeing how complicated it would be to uh, court him. Especially with a few other people in her life that she was also interested in. Let’s not forget the problem with them being from two very different worlds. So Ivy is feeling very grumpy over the entire situation.

So maybe someone can fix her foul mood? Or at least join her in the Nexus for a while. She'll share her food.
blindingtrust: (Hair done up)
Ivy had been on her way back from a somewhat high brow dinner she had been invited to. So her hair was done up nicely and she was wearing white to throw people off balance a little. Even the shawl wrapped around her shoulders was white and very thin like a spider's web.

But suddenly she isn't in Gotham. She frowns and sniffs the air. This must be the Nexus. So she keeps walking and stops when she hears a loud rumble. Crap. She starts backing up and feels something drop right behind her. A tail of some kind?

"Why hello, miss," a loud somehow cultured voice says from somewhere above her. "I hope you don't mind but I do enjoy the company."

"I---" Oh she does mind. But now she's too nervous to say anything. That sounds like a dragon. And suddenly she’s very nervous and wants to get away now!
blindingtrust: (nighttime)
So very, very wrong )

((This is from an LOL. So yeah. Might not want to read it.))
blindingtrust: (walk away)
Here is where everyone can find the place where Ivy met Phoenix for their date. Actually they might find her here too with a large dog on a leash. The dog looks to be a cross between a Saint Bernard and a German Shepard and is sniffing around. Of course it can't pick up on Phoenix's scent here. Too many people have been here. But Ivy brought her dog along just in case not many people appeared to investigate the missing defense lawyer. In all honestly she isn't sure what to expect.

But the city seems dark. Oppressing. And it holds many secrets and clues if someone is willing to look for them. Get ready folks, because this will prove to be an adventure.
blindingtrust: (Coffeeandcaffineyay!)
And here is the Nexus cafe. Well the one Ivy had told Daniel about. And she's running late. Had to drop off a report with a Professor so she could skip a final due to her grade being high enough. The fact she could not study as much? Made her happy. But she stops and waits to see if the person she should be meeting is here. After all, she was late. She'd applogise for that but it couldn't be helped too much.
