blindingtrust: (Expecting something)
This wasn't going to be like a cheesy movie. It was just the sort of thing that happened one day. Carol was moving out west because she got a new job and her father needed her. Ivy would miss the older woman who didn't bat an eye at anything that happened in the Gotham City District Attorney's office.

Of course Ivy was just the Assistant District Attorney. It was a big deal for her but a highly stressful job. She had tried to let Carol talk her into switching to tea but every murder case that she had to cope with that should have chilled her blood had her going straight for the coffee like a life line.

Today she was going to be meeting her newest secretary. This was going to be an adventure at least. She smoothed her suit jacket out slightly as she stepped off the elevator and the heels of her shoes made a delightfully soft clicking sound as she made her way down to her office and went in to start getting ready for the work day.

Whoever they were sending her way should be here soon enough. She faintly recalled that this man used to work with the Austin police department. She hoped they didn't have a heavy Texan accent. That would be a pity.

This was unexpected it really was. Ivy ended up taking a train to New York during the week to start looking into a cold case. She knew this was out of her jurisdiction but because of the connections the case wouldn't even make it to court. It made the lawyer sad really.

The killings had never been answered for. Six families dead. They sounded like mob hits to her and she thought it was an out of towner that did it. After all the killings may have been brutal but they were also clean. That pointed towards a few people Ivy was aware of that were in the mob but no one could ever really pin anything on them. They were too well connected after all.

That was why she was in New York. She was looking into getting a meeting with someone who had been involved with an old school mob hit man years and years ago. She had found the woman's name in some files that indicated this woman had been in Gotham around the same time as the killings occurred and had fled town after that.

She did know who to go talk to about this though. A fellow lawyer who had worked for this Ms Daisy. It had been over some kind of harassment case. Ivy didn't have all the details. She just knew that Ms Daisy had been an innocent woman with terrible luck. Now all she had to do was speak to the other blind lawyer in the tri-state area.

She got home late. The wrap around got tossed over the back of a chair and she shivered from the cold. The pale blue costume hadn't kept her warm either even if her shoulders hadn't even been exposed. The scarf that she had at one point had around her eyes since she had been silly enough to go to the part dressed up as Justice finds it's way to the floor where she is sure a cat will attack it.

She goes into the kitchen and starts to fix herself some tea. It was late and it might warm her up before she changed into something that might get rid of the cold chilling her skin. She shouldn't be so cold, she thought. It hadn't been too bad outside. But now she was smiling to herself.

It wasn't perfect but she... had an offer. It was a good one and it made her want to celebrate. She found the more she smiled while waiting for the water to heat up the less she worried about the chill.

"God, this is great. I just don't know who to tell abut this," Ivy mutters as she reaches up to fiddle with her hair. She did wish she could tell someone. A lump formed in her throat for a moment and then she nearly jumped out of her skin when the kettle whistled loudly. How long had she been standing there?

She grimaced and shook her head while getting her tea bag and finished fixing herself that mug of tea. It was time to think the whole thing over.

Ivy had gotten Altair a present a while ago she hadn't gotten to him. Every time they had ran into each other it was unexpected and very chaotic. Or just damn interesting for other reasons. She still had no idea how she was going to tell him she had something for him.

She frowns when the thing in question attacked her shoe again. There was purring of course when she reached down to scoop up the fuzzy ball. It didn't help her resolve that cats were evil when it curled up against her shoulder and continued to purr in one ear.

"Stop that," Ivy triers to order the young cat. "I don't like you. We've discussed this before."

Now it starts to rub his head against Ivy's jaw. Damn it, why her? Ivy is about to give the young cat a very stern lecture on why she doesn't like cats when she notes she isn't walking across wood floors. Nexus.

And she is in somewhat normal clothing. Ivy decides to find a place to sit. The cat better not try to run off.

It was the Iceberge Lounge. One of the hot spots for the social elite and people somehow connected to the Mafia. In some ways it was also one of the safest places to hold a meeting. There was one such meeting going on up in one of the management offices over looking the club. Bars from old music could be heard through the door as it opened and a young dark haired woman dressed in formal wear was lead in.

"Thank you for having one of your men meet me, Mr Cobblepot. I do value the courtesy they showed me," Ivy stated showing all the poise in the world. She held herself as if she owned the room.

"Do take a seat, Ms Weaver. I didn't go through all that trouble just for a chat," the short man requests.

Ivy merely nods and takes a seat across from him. "No. You really didn't. I don't like it when my friends are abducted so let's cut to the chase, Mr Cobblepot. What the hell is this about? Your men..."

"Acted how they shouldn't have. I do apologize for how they mishandled you the other night. I hope to make it up to you before we move on to more important matters."
blindingtrust: (Cedric standing)
It had started a while ago in Gotham. At least for Cedric and Ivy it had. Now dog and owner were separated. Cedric had found his way into the Nexus. For him it wasn't very hard. For a dog he was both fairly smart and held a decent memory. He was looking and sniffing around for someone who he deemed 'nice'.

And of course Altair was nice. He would probably pat Cedric. And notice the fairly fresh blood matted into his upper shoulder and the stains around his muzzle. He had been in a tussle and was seeking attention because right now Ivy was in no shape to stick her nose out and notice he had been beaten up a bit too. After all Cedric would never willingly let any harm come to Ivy. She was the nice lady who fed him and took such good care of him after all.

(( OOC NOTE: This is for future ploty fun times for anyone who happens to be following this. In Gotham that is.))

Ivy was actively seeking Altair in the Nexus. She wasn't sure if he was there but if he was she had something in store for him. Mostly because she had been pondering this for a long time.

He would have no idea what was in store for him. Though the slightly worrying part was when she found she was someplace that felt like someone had dropped a old church or temple of some kind near a large forest. She could tell there was a path leading away from the forest and the holy place. She wasn't sure if she would call it holy but it had the right feel. There was a sense of peace that came off the old stones.

But that didn't matter. The serenity would be quiet rudely disrupted once Ivy could locate the person she was sure was in the area.

Ivy had used her PINpoint to get them inside her home. It was a large home she had inherited a while ago. It didn't really suit her due to the age but the dark lighting did suit her because she didn't need the lighting.

Finally Ivy shifts again. She isn't sure what she's doing right now. Just that she had offered to let him stay because he couldn't be on his own. "Uh. Well. Here we are. This place is kind of...big? It's easy to get lost if you don't know you're way around. Please try to stay out of the basement if you can Flavious."
blindingtrust: (Looking down)
Ivy had a long day. Tests and final papers plagued her since the last time she had been here. The life of a student could be stressful which is why she was taking a much needed break. She was in her usual clothing which consisted of her long coat, which lay unbuttoned, a white collared shirt that had the top two buttons undone, and dark slacks.

But her shoes had been removed. As well as her socks. She had even seen fit to remove her sunglasses. She was just content to sit and let her mind unload all that information that kept spinning through her head.

She's not dozing off. Really. Her head dropping against her chest means nothing. It's just the tree she's under is so nice and the air is so warm. She can't help it if she's relaxing and just happens to find herself snoozing a bit.
blindingtrust: (Hair done up)
It isn't often Ivy uses her PINpoint to go home from the Sanctuary. But she had a really good reason. To change into something a little more showy. It was a nice dress that a friend had talked her into buying.

Poor Altair would never know what hit him. It had more color than anything else Ivy owned. And showed a good amount of her legs too, didn't help Ivy was wearing matching shoes and waiting for the chance to say hello to Altair. He might find it unusal for Ivy to be wearing red.

It would just look odd seeing as she's not a flashy dresser and red is well, eye catching.

For Altair

Ivy was in the Nexus once more. It had been a few weeks for her since she had last seen Altair in his home reality. She hadn't been in the Nexus proper either for quite some time.

In fact today she was back on her way through the Nexus dressed very casually. Jeans and a t-shirt. Not something she would normally wear but it was a very nice shirt. She was also plopped right under a tree in a thick grove of trees with one of her books in brail and a basket filled with food. Because she knew she would be too busy studying to go get food latter.

Her health had also improved greatly since they had last run into each other. And she was still quite serious about what she had said to him. But now she was seeing how complicated it would be to uh, court him. Especially with a few other people in her life that she was also interested in. Let’s not forget the problem with them being from two very different worlds. So Ivy is feeling very grumpy over the entire situation.

So maybe someone can fix her foul mood? Or at least join her in the Nexus for a while. She'll share her food.
blindingtrust: (Hair done up)
Ivy had been on her way back from a somewhat high brow dinner she had been invited to. So her hair was done up nicely and she was wearing white to throw people off balance a little. Even the shawl wrapped around her shoulders was white and very thin like a spider's web.

But suddenly she isn't in Gotham. She frowns and sniffs the air. This must be the Nexus. So she keeps walking and stops when she hears a loud rumble. Crap. She starts backing up and feels something drop right behind her. A tail of some kind?

"Why hello, miss," a loud somehow cultured voice says from somewhere above her. "I hope you don't mind but I do enjoy the company."

"I---" Oh she does mind. But now she's too nervous to say anything. That sounds like a dragon. And suddenly she’s very nervous and wants to get away now!
