Vacations could be so relaxing. Ivy was putting things away and enjoying the fact nothing had gone wrong while she was away for two weeks. Everything seemed normal. Of course no one would have noticed a short absence from the city. She told people where she was going and no emergencies had come up. She also loved the fact she felt more well rested than she had in months. Nothing was quite like knowing that nothing could go wrong up in the mountains away from the chaos of the city.

So she finished unpacking and started moving around her home again. She noticed though that there were signs of someone being here recently. Not the house keeper who comes in to help her either. Ivy wondered who wold have dropped in while she was away. The thought didn't last for long as she got herself a glass of water to sip on since it felt too late to drink coffee.

She was too relaxed to take notice of him at first. She tilted her head then tilted it again in confusion. "You're here? Why?"

Altaїr seemed content to glare daggers at her instead of answer the question at first. Then, after a long silent moment, he replied in a dangerously low tone. "...Where have you been?"

"I was out of town." She's confused about why he's so angry sounding. Then it dawns on her she completely forgot to find some way of letting him know where she would be.

"Every year shortly after I finish my classes for the summer I head out of town for two weeks to a piece of property my uncle owns so I can rest. I..I'm sorry. I just forgot to tell you since I hadn't been sleeping at all until my exams were over." Well maybe she had slept a little but not enough for it to be healthy, she'd been fairly stressed and withdrawn before the tests.

The Assassin's gaze shifted slightly, his expression leveling out into a bit more curiosity, slight confusion, but still mostly hardened like a glare. He wasn't quite sure what to make of this development.

To continue to be mad or not? That was the question.

He was most definitely all for the not being reasonable. But that wouldn't do either of them really much good. "...Don't do that again," he managed at least in a calm voice but quite obviously a less than completely reasonable request.

Ivy doesn't know what to feel. But she sets aside her glass and moves towards him. Her fingers twitch a little then her hand moves up next to his cheek.

"I'm sorry if you were worried about me. I wouldn't have been much company. I slept pretty much the first four days I was there," she tilts her head in an embarrassed manner. "My Uncle dropped in to check on me during my stay and couldn't manage to wake me up for very long...He left since he thought I needed the rest."

If Altair lets her she's going to just keep rambling at him. She did miss having him around.

Altaїr tilts his head slightly into the direction of the hand as if to push into it for comfort. However, he does not move his head closer or rub or any of that nonsense but simply closes his eyes for a moment while he listens to her.

After a moment he realizes she might never stop.

"...All right, all right," he says. "So you needed to be alone for a while and just sleep. Fine. I still would have liked to have known somehow."

Ivy looked guilty over that. She wished she had been able to think of it at the time.

"I am sorry bout that. I hope you didn't do anything rash," she murmurs while closing the distance and letting her hand rest on his cheek. She can only imagine how the underworld might have suffered under his displeasure if she was gone for too much longer.

It was funny to imagine the Penguin quaking in terror anyways. Still! She felt guilty about it, really.

The white robed assassin shifted a little under her expression. He hadn't...really gone over board, really. Okay, maybe a little. But he hadn't done that much damage!

"Of course not," he says instead, with a frown and a re-crossing of his arms over his chest. He looked rather like a school-child pouting when he looked away like that.

Ivy's trying not to laugh or look too amused right now. It shouldn't be funny that he shook down part of the city, probably.

"Well....It couldn't have been that bad. No one left me any messages on the phone," Ivy says with a small shrug. "Good thing I didn't extend my stay."

Even though it was kinda funny. He refused to meet her would-be gaze so he thankfully wouldn't have noticed anyway.

"I am very... grateful for that," he finished rather lamely once he realized he was blurting out what might be construed as emotion.

Now she bends her head away. She knows she's blushing just a bit since he doesn't often blurt out things. Now that she thinks about it he never does.

"Uh... So am I," she says mirroring his tone. "I...missed you."

There is a moment of awkward silence, some random shifting movement, and then his eyes flicker towards Ivy to watch her reaction.

"...It is not always possible for me to come here," he began slowly, still not entirely sure where he was going with this sentence until he just got there, "but I can try more often."

At least he wasn't the blushing type.

Ivy was very happy with where he ended. It would be easy to call it delighted. She's not making any loud noises. She just drags one leg back and digs her big toe into the tiles a little.

"I'd like that." Going o long between getting to be around him had bothered her. Knowing he was trying to come around was so much better than thinking he just didn't have time to.

Time was of the essence in his lifestyle. However, time was a little awkward when it came to dimension hopping--sometimes he got back home without any time passing, other times he was off by a day. He was trying to learn what caused the difference but he wasn't having luck. Until then it might be hard for him to just come by whenever he wanted...but it couldn't hurt to let Ivy know that he was willing to try.

He nodded, looking down and away. "Very well."

She had no idea and she had been doing this much longer than him. She wouldn't begin to count the number of times she ended up pulling an over-nighter in another world for some reason.

She was lucky she never got stuck that she could recall.

"Thank you," she murmurs trying to not embarrass him.
