Here is where everyone can find the place where Ivy met Phoenix for their date. Actually they might find her here too with a large dog on a leash. The dog looks to be a cross between a Saint Bernard and a German Shepard and is sniffing around. Of course it can't pick up on Phoenix's scent here. Too many people have been here. But Ivy brought her dog along just in case not many people appeared to investigate the missing defense lawyer. In all honestly she isn't sure what to expect.

But the city seems dark. Oppressing. And it holds many secrets and clues if someone is willing to look for them. Get ready folks, because this will prove to be an adventure.

Li, for his part, is suddenly distracted as his PINpoint rings with a call from Novak (http://blindingtrust.livejournal.com/2328.html?thread=51480#t51480). He answers excitedly, but as they talk it becomes clear to anyone listening in that Novak has found approximately half of Phoenix's PINpoint.... in an entirely different location from where the magatama was found. But how...?

Being as he really cannot hear the conversation from where he is, Miles remains pensive and looking at the magatama.

After figuring out where Novak is, Li turns to Edgeworth and exclaims, "Novak found Phoenix's PINpoint! But it's... all the way at 48th and Baker."

Ow curious. Hopefully, they won't find Phoenix's clothes and limbs strewn about town, as well.

"Okay. We'll look over here for a little while longer and then head in that direction," he says into the PINpoint but in such a way so that Miles can hear. Then, to Miles he asks, "Is that okay with you?"

"That's fine." He states, glancing up to the nearest street signs, estimating the distance. He's trying to figure out exactly what happened, trying to piece together what evidence exists.

"Somewhere, there should be signs of a struggle." Now he's just talking aloud, trying to organize his thoughts as he pockets the magatama. No sense in losing it.

Li nods in agreement and hangs up with Novak. "I'd suggest we try to take alleys and sidestreets to where Novak is. If I were kidnapping someone that's what I'd do in order to keep from being seen."

Then again, he adds mentally, if whoever did this can fly, all bets are off.

Abruptly changing the subject, he continues, "We should call Mia and tell her what's been found so far. Do you want to or should I?"

Miles manages a nod: despite the fact that the plan is rather haphazardly misguided, it is still a plan.

He's still trying to find signs of a struggle or something to figure out a bit more why Phoenix just vanished and why two items of his ended up quite far apart.

"I'll contact her." He pulls out his PINpoint and dials Mia's cell phone number.

Miles won't have to wait long for Mia to answer the phone call, as she catches it on the first ring. It shouldn't shock him either that she's got a serious and professional tone to her voice when she picks up.

"Mr. Edgeworth, what is it? Is there something I can assist you with?" It might be the wrong question to ask immediately, but it's the first one that comes to her mind.

"Good afternoon, Ms. Fey." Serious and professional tone in return, although Miles faintly sounds.. tired. Possibly not readily picked up over the phone but his voice is certainly off.

"Just calling to update you with the investigation here so far." Here as in he went on the investigation to Gotham. Oops. He glances down at the item found once again. "We found Wright's..." What was it called again? "...magatama, and a few blocks away his PINpoint was found."

He turns the magatama over, studying it for the zillionth time. "Other than that, no sign of him so far."

Miles had best be grateful that Mia can't detect his tired voice, or otherwise she'd be there in a heartbeat to assist him. He'd also better no tell her that he's actually in Gotham working on the investigation, lest she come there anyways and get mad about it.

"...So, other than his possessions, you haven't found any other leads, I'm guessing? Hmm..." Cue the pensive thinking on the other line. "Anything I can help with? Or are we stuck on where to turn next?" She's a little bothered by the fact that those two items were found at the scene, instead of Phoenix possibly having either one.

"There is a potential possibility of being able to locate Wright through his PINpoint." Miles will stick to ambiguous statements to imply that he might not actually be on scene. An angry Mia is one he doesn't need to deal with right now.

"The locations suggest a distance, perhaps of a few blocks, but no sign of struggle. We're trying to piece together possible outcomes. If we can figure out where he was taken to, we can advance from there."

Too late, Miles. Some of your choice words say otherwise. Mia's not stupid, and she's already begun pointing out those flaws in her mind.

"Alright, that's a start. But Miles...why didn't you tell me you was at the scene of the crime already? Wait, don't answer that question just yet. You can tell me when I get there. And it better be a good explanation." She's slightly ticked at being left out of the loop, which will only fuel her already irritable attitude.

"I'll be there in a few minutes. Don't go anywhere."

There's no reason to wait for a response out of the prosecutor, and she disconnects the call between them. She'll keep her promise to be there, without a doubt.

"..." Oh shit. Did he just..? Miles blinks a bit dumbfoundedly, scowling faintly. Dammit. Well that doesn't turn out how he expects. The conversation repeats over and over again in his mind before he turns to Li.

"Should we meet up with the others now?"
