It isn't often Ivy uses her PINpoint to go home from the Sanctuary. But she had a really good reason. To change into something a little more showy. It was a nice dress that a friend had talked her into buying.

Poor Altair would never know what hit him. It had more color than anything else Ivy owned. And showed a good amount of her legs too, didn't help Ivy was wearing matching shoes and waiting for the chance to say hello to Altair. He might find it unusal for Ivy to be wearing red.

It would just look odd seeing as she's not a flashy dresser and red is well, eye catching.

Ivy frowns in return. "I was talking about when I got myself sick."

"And...I can understand that. It's easier for me to bury myself in my studies." It would be easy if she could shut off her feelings. What's nice is though that cool mask of indifference can slide into place. If he wants to talk like this...fine.

"And yet you so easily push me away." She keeps that mask firmly in place. "I...shouldn't even bother."

This is odd, she thinks. Giving up. But it's easier to turn bck now rather than try to press forward. Besides. They are too different as she keeps reminding herself every time they run into each other.

She turns back to the couch she had sulked on and feels around for the PINpoint.

He glanced back at her searching the couch. He had this wild impulse to snatch the PINpoint device and hide it. He did grab it. He held it in his hand and studied it boredly.

He looked up at her vaguely and replied lazily. "If that's the way you feel..."

Ivy pulls away from him. He keeps confusing her.

"Right now I'm not sure what I want." Not anymore. First she wanted nothing but to be near him. She had felt comfortable and flirty. And a few other things she didn't want to examin too closely right now. Mostly because she knows she's angry at him for letting her get close then pushing her away so wickly. But is it fair to be angry at him? Would he understand half of what she had tried to express to him? The mask she wears so well...twitches at the corner of her mouth. She's arguing with herself over this.

Now this snatching up of her PINpoint. It made no sense to her. She was positive he wouldn't follow her if she left. Was he trying to drive her crazy? That had to be it. Really.

Altaїr watches her interestedly. He fiddles with the device idly, careful not to push any buttons despite not paying any attention to what he is doing. He turns half-away and stares off for a bit. He slyly looks back at her from the corner of his eyes. "Don't you want this?" he asks, indicating the PINpoint.

"Yes. But...I'm not sure if I want to leave," Ivy respons. She sinks onto the couch and kicks her shoes off after that she tucks her legs under her...or at least tries. One ends up getting tucked under her and the other is streched on the couch almostbear. But she turns her face away from him while tarting to fold up her cane.

But her hands that usually are better that this and she slips the cane knocks her in the forehead andpart of the 'joint' in one section of the canepinches one finger. So there is hissing and cursing. Ivy shakes her caught hand and yelps when she hits herself again...and the cane falls and rolls into her shoes. That...happened too quickly for her to stop. And now she's hissing and nursing her fnger. Even though her forehead hurts more.

Altaїr blinks and tilts his head at her curiously. He could tell she tried being defiant in her action, but had failed miserably when she went too fast or couldn't concentrate or both... and had instead messed up horribly in the process. His head shook minutely.

He bent down to pick up the cane and ended up knelt down in front of her. Without standing he offered the cane back to her with one hand. "You dropped this," he said, his voice devoid of anything that could be construed as sarcasm or anything other than simple fact.

"I--" She almost snapped. In a way that woudn't have been nice bt she sort of elts a bit. Deflates even. Because he hadn't been crule about it.

"Thanks," she murmurs and takes it back. This time she folds her cane up proplerly and secures it. Though now she's so tempted to reach over and touch him. He's so close! But she's afraid to try again right now. Shyly she reaches over and rests a hand against him. It's up to him now. Is he going to move away again?

There really seems to be no reaction from him in any sort of way. He does however, after a moment or two, shift his stance so that his feet don't go numb. He had been going to stand back up, but she seems to like where he is so he stays.

He moves in idle ways--a hand playing with dirt here, a hand swiping at something on his clothes there, and his head glancing around at anything that moves. Other than that, he doesn't do anything.

She does actually. He's close and the fact he hasn't moved make her ace light up for a moment. He just made her quite happy.

Though now she shifts a bit. The foot she's resting on might fall asleep if she doesn't move soon. But given that she doesn't want him to move she decides not to move either. It wouldn't be very fair.

By this point in time Altaїr is at a loss for what to do. He is so uncertain as to their current relationship it's not even funny. Although for a second he has this un-precedented desire to laugh out loud. He clamps his mouth firmly shut and holds his breath waiting for the moment to pass. He hates it when his mind gets so actively muddled that he has one of those moments.

He looks up at Ivy idly and doesn't even realize it. After a moment he shakes his head and looks away. He still has nothing to say--much less does anything physically speaking.

He has good reason to be uncertain. After what had just happened today? They seem to be on shaky footing. Not because of just one of them though. They're both very complicated people. And communication can be difficult when one person reacts too strongly to body language.

Ivy shifts after a few long minutes of silence. The leg she had tucked under her body had started to go numb. Then she looses her balance even with one hand on the couch. She slips and ends up not falling off the couch. But her sun glasses nearly fell off. And she's blinking because she might have tugged at Altair while trying to not fall over or off the couch. "Um. I...lost my balance." She pulls her hand back to rub her foot that's been numbed.

Altaїr steadies himself with one hand on the ground and his other darts forward in both a balancing mechanism and also a hesitant reach to steady Ivy. The second hand doesn't quite touch her, but hovers somewhat near as she regains her balance. Then he uses it in conjunction with the couch to complete his balance before settling back to the exact position as before all the falling.

He glances at her face and is tempted to do something with those glasses of hers, but resists. Instead he simply clears his throat and looks away at nearby advertisement poster.

Ivy kept rubbing the numb foot then let her leg extend and rest next to her oher leg. Right now her sunglasses are teetering between staying blanced and slipping right off.

"Altair? I could move. So you could sit as well," she offers. Though she isn't sure if he will actually join her. She's trying to not press forward too quickly again.
